Mr. Z Dazzles at Rosa Parks Elementary
Written by Mike Nava

John Zickefoose appeared at Rosa Parks Elementary this week where he kept children riveted as he read from Dr. Seuss Books in celebration of  the Anniversary of Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss).

Referred to by everyone as just "Mr. Z", John has been delighting kids with his animated story telling abilities for 13 years.

John works at the Corona Library and regularly has story time for the children and their parents. Please check with the Corona Public Library for details or click here for their site.  He is also known throughout the community for being actively involved in the Corona Relay for Life as a former Chairman for the event.

Harada Elementary and Foothill Elementary are the next local stops for John’s readings. He  brings stories to life and explains to the children the importance of reading and learning.  He closes the story time by explaining to the children that he did not learn to read until he was 35 years old.

I have always heard of these story time readings and my children love listening but I have never experienced it before last Friday at Rosa Parks. It is not only entertaining, but I found it truly inspirational. I do not know how I am ever going to read my kids another story without feeling one-up'd by Mr. Z.

Photos do not do the experience justice so here are a few video clips.......

My children and I have had the enjoyment of listening to Mr. Z reading stories and find ourselves just enthralled with the story. No one better animates or tells a story like Mr. Z!

I go to Rosa Parks and was in the audience, and it is very fun to hear him read to us.
