i think you do. But it's easy, i did it this morning. Just go to your profile (click on your name at top right), then in the friends section on the right, click on "edit your friends list" and all your "old" friends will be there and you just have to check the box on the bottom of each friend (i think it says request friendship) and then click save changes at the bottom. Those friends will be notified to approve (or not) your request.
