View Full Version : Anyone Having a Quick Reply Issue?
A few people have reported that the Quick Reply hangs up when they use it when they reply.
Is anyone else having this issue? I cannot seem to experience it or replicate it.
It's happened to me a couple of times but not for a while. But maybe because i almost never use it. I either use the quote or new reply buttons.

I usually use the quote button also. But almost everytime I use the quick reply, I get the hang thing. I didn't start noticing it until the picnic in the park advertisement went up.
That is what I suspect too. Let me remove the banner code and then tell me if it happens.

ok. I edited the code slightly and it did not kill the banner. I think there was one thing that did not belong. I will make one slight change that puts the banner back on he bottom the the LAST post instead of the bottom of the FIRST post. This should not affect the quick reply, so tell me if it kills it again.
Unfortunately, I have to do this in this live template 'in front of everybody' as some things just cannot be tested on a hidden template people do not use.

Can't be me. When it was happening before, it wasn't happening everytime. I wonder if it's a cycle thing? I don't know, but when Mike moved the banner, it didn't do it anymore. Moved it back and BAM!

Just tried it again. It hung and I had 2 banners that time. A green one and a yellow one.
I tried at Claudine's and it hung as well.
It is strange that when I move the banner to the top, you do not have the issue. When I move it to the bottom, you are having the issue.
Let me look into it a little more, but try logging into a different machine. Or, try using firefox or a different browser and tell me if it continues.
I'll log into a different computer. RWilson was saying that it was happening to her computer too just 2 days ago.

ok, I reset the banner to default settings (with border) it almost HAS to work now. Please test.

ok, total wierdness. I will be adding another banner zone to this page, as well as a few others during the testing. They will all be the Picnic banners until after the picnic.
I will make sure I check to see if there are issues before I start putting sponsors there. I just cannot see where it only affects a few people.

I use it all the time...
I changed the rotation of the banners to one banner every X number of posts. I have it at 10 currently. So, one banner spot every 10 posts.
Please let me know if you have an issue.

Don't get rid of the button. I like the quick reply button. At least I used to.
Ok, just posted fine now. I wonder if I was the 10th like you were saying before?

I see the new banner locations are now making the Banners appear below the PM inbox. That was not a planned thing.

When I made the banner change and it was working for you, I did not one thing to the site, so I am not changing the location of the banners.

It's totally site related. Or maybe Mozilla related. Have one day where 10 people you know, do nothing but reply in the quick reply area and see what happens. But change the banner to work every time like it did before. It's not just me. I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to computer literate for **** like that to happen to me. No smiley needed...

I've had problems too but I just close the window and start over. It's the net and it's free so I just live with it.

It's only when the banner is on top for some reason.
