INSTRUCTIONS

1) Please use this form only to report crimes that occurred within the areas patrolled by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. If you are not sure, please see our Riverside County Maps (http://www.riversidesheriff.org/maps/map-riv.htm) or City/Community List (http://www.riversidesheriff.org/department/city-com.htm) to determine which agency services the area where the crime occurred. If it occurred outside our service area, please contact the appropriate Law Enforcement Agency (See Agency Directory, for non-emergency phone numbers (http://www.riversidesheriff.org/department/agency.htm)).

2) Please complete as many lines of the report as you possibly can. This will help us investigate the crime that you are reporting and/or screen it for potential investigation. Whenever you only have partial information (like part of a license plate number, or a person's description), please give us whatever you have. Also, please identify the COMMUNITY the crime occurred in.
3) Use this on-line report form if the crime you are reporting fits into one of these categories.
Vandalism
Car Break-In
Burglary of House or Garage
Burglary of a Business
Petty Theft (under $400)
Grand Theft (over $400)
Miscellaneous OccurrenceDo not use this form if...

...if you know where the suspect is, or where he/she resides.
...there is physical evidence to be collected.
...there is a present or continuing danger.
...the crime involves domestic violence or crimes resulting in physical injuries.Stolen Vehicles CANNOT be reported on this form.

If the crime does not meet all the criteria above, then you should call (951) 776-1099 and request a deputy to respond to your location. IMPORTANT NOTE: Knowingly submitting a false Crime Report is a misdemeanor under the State Penal Code and may be punishable by fine or up to one year in jail.
