Normally I would address this privately, but I figured I'd address it here since we will have other holiday events I am sure.

Lydia, like I have stated here before and with you extensively in person, the forum is not to be used for advertising businesses or business events, even those events have benefit to the community such as a "festival" or a pumkin patch or whatever. Same thing. Just a bigger scale.

Tarbell is not different because they do "bigger" events, or hold foreclosure seminars to help troubled homeowners. I am sure tarbell has an extensive email list and other resources to get the word out about their business event.

Churches are held under the same rules here as businesses.

If the door was opened, the forums would have nothing but solicitations, open houses, church services, Cookie Lee Sales, Monavie "specials"...I think you all you get my drift. We cannot differenciate between the little guys pushing their businesses "events" and the big guys pushing theirs.

Instead of people coming to the site for conversation, news, happenings and discussions, they'd have to sift through the minefield of sales, specials, offers, deals and the like.
