Not being able to add buddies

I am trying to add a new buddy, but with no luck. I get the message:

"You do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again."

After following those instructions, I still cannot add new buddies. I have added buddies in the past with no problem. BTW, I am using SBC's browser.

The stupid SBC browser is your issue I bet. A few people have had that problem too with that browser and drove be absolutely crazy thinking it was a forum problem. Use IE or Firefox and you should not have that problem. I do not know what it is, but that seems to be the only problem with that browser.

Open IE or Firefox, add the buddies and then go back to the SBC browser if you want.

another work-around might be to PM the potential buddies and ask them to add you and you can then accept the request in your user CP.

I was one of those people. Mike helped me to figure out it's SBC. If I want to add buddies, change my avator or signature I use firefox or IE. It's the only way you won't get an error message.

I've discovered I only get that problem when someone has just subscribed. I think they are still pending when that happens. If I wait a smidge longer, it's no problem.

Good one. When they apply, they are technically members, but with almost no access to anything (except the arcade :) ), so you may be correct. Once we verify address, theyt are "real" members with full member rights.
