Was there a problem with some networks still pointing to the old site last night? I was on there and there were about 5 other people but no new posts which was strange and Sara and I both made a post and they are not here today. I also noticed there was a message I wrote you about earlier saying you were in the middle of the move and not to post or make any changes. I wasn't sure if you were doing something new but since I remembered you had already said you were complete with the move I posted anyways. Today my post is missing and I had 45 unread messages from 11pm last night and 8am this morning which makes me think I was on the old board last night.

Yes Mike. Thanks. This is also is addressed to Beth ad Shirley as I was tracking down a few missing posts issues last night for her.

The issue was that there were (for a short time) two boards running at the same time. Depending on your ISP, some were looking at the old one, some were looking at the new one. I thought I had shut off posting on the old one so no updates can be made. Looks like it did not take. I should have just shut the whold board down, but did not.

So, If you got emails via subscription that said you have a new post then the post was gone then this is what happened. They posted on the old one, you got the email, clicked on the link and YOU were sent to te new one with a "missing post".

There is a period of 1 minute to like 12 hours for all ISP's to update their records to point you to the new site.

This was my mistake for not just shutting down the old site alltogether an giving you an option to post. So, If you posted last night or yesterday and do not see your post, it's gone and you will have to post again.

Sorry, my fault.

Some of this too, was it was kind of an emergency switch over as when I woke up, the forum was down again, so I got sick and tired, so we just did it then because there were only a few of us on the forum at that time anyway.

While we were implementing the switch, the forum came back up, so I probably was not thinking as clearly as I should. Anyway, this new server seems so much faster to me and the switch over was pretty flawless.

Mike I actually liked the fact that you didn't shut the board down. At least we got the emails with what the missing posts had said. If you had shut it down then we couldn't have talked about the earthquake!! I'm glad we still had the ability to still talk to each other.

How clever of you to think to do it that way. I wouldn't have even thought about it!

Adolfo emailed and said he was pointing to the old forum STILL. Strange, but kind of what I am talking about. Different networks take their own sweet time updating all the records. Could be at his work too. I have him some tips to clear out his records on his computer so it points here. I hope that helps him.
