Review: We stopped by Charo Chicken for the first time over the weekend. The place looked like your average walk-in, pay at the register, seat yourself restaurant. It was clean and there were a lot of people inside. The picture of the Spicy Thai Chicken meal posted in the window caught my eye (I wanted to try Bamboo Cafe, but DH didn't want Thai that day), so I ordered that. For $4.95, I got two pieces of chicken (thigh and drumstick), coleslaw with a yummy peanut sauce, rice, flour tortillas, AND a drink with free refills. It was very tasty and just what I was craving. The chicken was moist, too. DH ordered the hot buffalo wings and he really loved the sauce (better than Buffalo Wild Wings across the street--their sauce is too salty for our taste). His only criticism was that they only served it with Ranch dressing--no Blue Cheese option.DS split a chicken quesadilla with my sister and it was decent--good amount of chicken inside.Overall, I think it was a great value. It's not gourmet, but (I think) a fresher, healthier alternative to KFC. I will definitely be going back to try their regular grilled chicken.
