How do I make my Avatar animate

What format does the Avatar have to be in? My hand is an animated Gif and it's supposed to be waiving...:

I wasn't able to use any animated gifs that was uploaded from my own computer...i had to find one off the net. If you find it on someones site, just use that url and it should work. Let me know if you need more help

P.S. There are also some places on the web that is free and allows you to upload and use their space. If you want me to list some, just holler

Thanks, now it says my image is a little too large, so I will decrease its size later and reference it from a link and hopefully it will work.

Lets see if this works.

I got this down to 17.something kb. So let's see if it animates... nope. It didn't work, so apparently it is more than file size. Strange.

No, it has to less than 100 pixels by 100 pixels. Mine is 125 x 70 so I have to scale it, but since it is and animated gif I have to scale each frame.

Mike. I found your issue. It is the size of your avatar. It was 112x57. The limit was 100x100. It went up, but did not animate. I am posting this user the test user account I have called testuser3. As you see, it animates now. What I did was allow for a 115x115 avatar, when uploaed it and it worked. I will leave it as 115x115. I guess an additional 15 pixels is no biggie for now. It just adds a little to page loads.

If you want to try it, go ahead. I will remove the testuser's avatar when your's works.

I keep trying to get Dale's animated and it wont work either

Thanks Mike! It works now. You might want to doulble check the file size you allow though, it said I can use up to 9.3 mb. That's one heck of a avatar

No fair! My CP shows up to 19.5 KB and that's what it's always shown.
