Default Technology forum

Mike,

What do you think of adding a technology forum? It just occurred to me while I was posting about issues with uverse in the uverse viewing party thread. Technically, I should probably create a new thread for issues and troubleshooting, but it occurred to me that a lot of people could probably benefit from a tech forum where people could discuss cable, computer & software, audio issues. A place to share problems and solutions.

What do you think?

Thanks Misty. No, we're not adding a tech forum. I of all people would like it here, but I do not see a value to the community since there are many other forums and tech issues are more than just Eastvale Related tech issues.

For the ATT Uverse thing, I see, but there really aren't that many issues that should be on a community forum other than talking about local DSL/Cable issues pertaining to these services in the community.

I am a little touchy about adding forums here unless there are really good reasons. The last one I added was the Non-Eastvale Schools forum because I did see a need for people that live in Eastvale that do not use the Eastvale Schools and want to ask questions, fundraise, etc.

The report I just ran a few days ago that 302 members on here that have ZERO Postings, to me, as an admin, that is a troublesome number. I know not all people are posters, many are readers only and that is fine, but I also think these forums can be intimidating to people who have not posted before and adding new forums in which to do so may add to their hesitation to post.

If I have a big worry here in this forum, it would be how to get more people to post, at least one post so when they really need to post, there is no learning curve or question on how to do it.

What about something more general like an Advice forum or something...
