Default Forum Update: vB Experience

I have installed vbExperience. It goes on the principal that most people look at others by their post count and that accounts for their experience on the site. Post count alone should not define a users activity.

This gives more insight on user activity. Just because you do not post much, does not mean you are not an active member. Maybe you are a big Thanks giver or an Arcade Champ. Perhaps you just read alot of posts, etc.

There are awards and stats on different users (see attachment)
Here is a breakdown of the points for different forum activities.

To see a users experience, look for the vbexperience tab in their profile or click on their name in a post.

Mike,

This sounds a bit technical than I thought. Should I really be concerned with all this information? I, myself, am just getting more familiar with the site. When I go back to work, I know my activity on the website will decrease or when the babies awake. I trying to decide how valuable the site is for me and my family. I've been on more lately, so that's a step in the right direction.

Barbara

Barbara, please do not worry about it. Do not be concerned. It is not a contest. It's just another way of looking at ones activity. I have heard from people (without me asking) that, oh, I do not post much, but I do read....etc.

So, I know there is consiousness about post numbers but this is more of a fun way to see activness (if that is a word, which I do not think it is) on the site without just looking at post counts.

Because there is an awards system build into it, we can have fun awards for, for example, the most helpful users (based on thanks received or a calculation of many other factors). Or the "most talkative" (combining referral numbers, profile comments etc. )

I am glad you are getting familiar with things around here. That's what matters.
